more movement

Today was one of my favorite days since we have been down here.  We woke up fairly early, pulled up the garage sale map on the Albuquerque Journal's website and proceeded to do the best green shopping there is.  Yes, I just used the word/term "green" as if it is important - it is important, just highly overused.  I am not helping.  Anyway, I am not going to detail the events or success of our garage hopping because I left all of our findings at our new place.  All day I was so excited to take pictures and post on here what we found and then, as usual, I forgot.  So, I will save that for another post!

You may have noticed I mentioned our new place. That is right, we got the keys tonight!  We weren't supposed to get them until tomorrow morning, but i think our landlord's sister was more excited to drop them off tonight instead of at 8am tomorrow morning. We took a small load from storage over and showed my mom around.  I need to remember to take a picture of our storage unit before we unload it tomorrow so you can see what we are working with.  It is going to be a long day!

I am very excited to move to our own place. I think having our belongings all unpacked will help me to feel like we actually live here, instead of feeling like we are on a really long vacation. Both Justin and I are feeling a bit sad to move out of my aunt's house.  We have really enjoyed living with her and getting to know her more. Oh well, I will just have to invite her over to cook for me... and hang out of course.

Well, I am off to bed.  I leave you with Larry Gilbert, who I am also sad to leave.

I want I want I want I want!

"-and not I was going to bring back all such things into my life and become again that most limited of all specialist, the 'well-rounded' man." (F. Scott Fitzgerald in The Great Gatsby)

While I did not like the book, I do love the above quote. (It is ok not to love an American classic right?)
I want to be well- rounded!  Well, really, I want to be good at everything.

I want to paint and draw! - I have no artistic talent at all
I want to play the piano - I have no patience for practice
I want to take amazing photos - I might have more luck just learning photoshop. :)
I want to write a great novel - who am I kidding? I HATE writing (why am I blogging?)
I want to travel all over the world - we have limited $
I want to flip houses - again with the $ thing
I want to paint a bunch of our furniture! - I will do this once we move

I think that i am feeling the "I want to do" more than normal because we aren't in a permanent home situation yet and I am feeling like I am not doing enough of anything!  It is like how I thought of about 10 different books I wanted to read as soon as we packed them and put them away.  I want because I can't have!

Anyway, this weekend we are moving into our little rental home. I can start painting (furniture) and can pull books out of boxes! Yay! I will post pics (probably not photoshopped) of our new place soon!

Begin

I promised Erin that I would start a blog after moving to New Mexico so anyone interested can keep up with the parts of our life I may happen to post about. So, here it is.

Since we have been here life has consisted of lots of driving around, searching for places to live and work, and lots of time at the country club.  No, I am not sipping Mai Tais by the pool, but rather I am watching my 2 little cousins 3 days a week.  In their ripe ages of 3 and 5 they are involved in swimming and tennis lessons and I have been commissioned to watch them.

We did actually sign a lease on a cute little house last night! We are very excited to have our own place again, but we are sad to leave my aunt.  Both of us have really enjoyed living with her this last month. She has a great place up in the East Mountains about 20 minutes outside of Albuquerque. Since today is my day off, and we only have 1 car, I am stuck up in the mountain house all by myself.  You know, I don't mind. :)

Currently I am listening to Fall: God Judges which is part of the Doctrine Series  done by Mark Driscoll at Mars Hill Church.  It is good and I should give it more attention... or take a nap.  One or the other!
